Clear Aligners vs Braces

Achieving your dream smile is possible at any age. Orthodontic treatment aims to straighten teeth and correct issues such as crowding, spacing, crossbite, overjet, deep bite, and open bite.

Clear aligners offer an efficient and discreet way to achieve this. You will have tooth coloured “attachments” glued onto certain teeth, which holds onto a clear plastic alginer that precisely fits your mouth. Orthodontic braces gradually shift teeth into their ideal position using a system of metal brackets, wires, and sometimes additional appliances.

How Clear Aligners Work

Your treatment involves a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners custom-made for your teeth. You'll change to a new set every 1-2 weeks, with each aligner gradually moving your teeth into the desired position. This process continues until your smile is perfectly aligned.

How Braces Work

Braces work by applying continuous, gentle pressure to the teeth, encouraging them to move over time. The brackets are bonded to the teeth and connected by an archwire, which is periodically adjusted to guide tooth movement. As the teeth shift, the surrounding bone remodels, allowing for a stable and properly aligned smile.
